The Name of Jesus

Teaching on this subjectis one of my favorite. I experience so much power in my life praying in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that I can’t be quite about it! When we proclaim his name, when we go in His name, when we speak in His name, we are taking His place on earth. That’s why Jesus said: “Go in my name…” With this statment Jesus was saying - When you go in my name all my authority will be present with you in that name! When Jesus gave us His name He gave us the right to use it! He gave us like Kenyon would say it - The power of attorney - meaning that Jesus gave us the legal right to fully represent Him on earth.

Dear Friends, It is with immense joy that I write to update you on developments of recent weeks, and what are the next missionary commitments. These past 3 months since my return from the United States, I have seen many dreams begin to take shape, to materialize. Let’s start with the design of the Bible School, TheWORD.it - Discovering the Champion in you, a project that by the grace of God started booming. With over 40 students, the lessons are already bringing the first fruits! Then there is the project FBMI, a branch of the ministry dedicated to the missionary journeys in countries such as Romania, India, Africa, Nepal and many in which God has opened  incredible doors…

In Romania for example the relationship with the pastors of the Good Samaritan Mission has been consolidated to the point of wanting to organize mission trips every three months, plus the opening of a Bible School in the city of Ocnamures under the leadership of Pastor Sergiu Muresan, I will be there from the 21st to 25th of October. In addition the latest mission in Sicily in the province of Agrigento was very blessed and many people have rededicated their lives to the Lord and many others have experienced a deep inner healing. Even in Sicily a satellite school of “TheWORD.it will soon be started. In Liguria area, we are consolidating good relations with pastor Luca Salamone, and he is following  similar teaching program like us . Another pleasant surprise I had a few days ago when Pastor Jean  Bertot from France has invited me to be one of the speakers at their annual conference in Toulouse from October 28th to November 2nd (download the brochure). Toulouse is a place very dear to my heart.

Quando pensiamo alla meditazione biblica, molto spesso abbiamo un’idea piuttosto vaga sull’argomento. Nella nostra società la parola “meditazione” è spesso collegata a religioni orientali, yoga, sette o alla meditazione trascendentale. In altre parole ci viene in mente di tutto tranne la meditazione BIBLICA! Allora la domanda sorge spontanea:

CHE COSE’ LA MEDITAZIONE BIBLICA?.

Innanzitutto vediamo alcune scritture a riguardo:

Questo libro della legge non si diparta mai dalla tua bocca, ma meditalo giorno e notte, avendo cura di mettere in pratica tutto ciò che v’è scritto; poiché allora riuscirai in tutte le tue imprese, allora prospererai [allora avrai un buon successo - King James Bible]. (Giosuè 1:8)

Qui notiamo che è Dio stesso che parla a Giosuè e lo incoraggia, lo invita e lo esorta a trovare attraverso la meditazione biblica le istruzioni per il suo successo. Successo equivale a: riuscita nelle imprese. Quindi nel caso di Giosuè, una saggezza soprannaturale per condurre il popolo di Dio esattamente come Mosè prima di lui aveva fatto. Leggiamo cosa il salmista a scritto a riguardo:

Beato [benedetto] l’uomo… il cui diletto è nella legge dell’Eterno, e su quella legge medita giorno e notte. (Salmo 1: 1-2)

Successo, riuscita, benedizione, saggezza e guida, sono tutti frutti della meditazione Biblica secondo i versi appena citati.

Mi domando allora: “Perché spesso preghiamo e chiediamo a Dio di donarci queste cose senza invece fare ciò che la sua parola ci invita a fare per ottenerle?” La nostra preghiera deve sempre essere in linea con la Scrittura, non può ignorarla.

La Scrittura dice: …Medita…allora riuscirai….

Meditare dall’ebraico è una parola molto interessante: הגה hâgâh - ruminare, ponderare, immaginare, parlare, studiare, ripetere e mormorare (Tratta dal Dizionario”Strong”).

Dal dizionario di lingua Italiana meditare significa: 1.fermare a lungo e con attenzione la mente sopra un oggetto, un’idea, un argomento, ecc., per intenderli e indagarli; 2. preparare nella mente qualcosa che si intende realizzare; 3. progettare, considerare con profonda attenzione un oggetto, un’idea, un argomento, riflettere.

Per rendere questo concetto così importante in modo semplice da afferrare possiamo dire che meditare la scrittura significa: Abbracciare mentalmente i pensieri di Dio e tenerli costantemente davanti i nostri occhi. In altre parole quando studio la Scrittura devo invitare e permettere allo Spirito Santo di ammaestrarmi e guidarmi nella verità (Giovanni capitoli 15-16-17). Nel mio caso, ogni volta che studio la Parola di Dio, mi pongo delle domande di questo tipo:

• Cosa stava accadendo in questo passaggio della Scrittura? (Immaginarlo)
• Cosa mi vuole dire lo Spirito Santo attraverso questo passaggio? (Immedesimarsi)
• Come posso mettere in pratica ciò che leggo? (Immergersi)

Le domande più costruttive solitamente sono:

1. Cosa?
2. Come?
3. A che scopo?

La sola lettura spesso ci mostra il “COSA”, la meditazione ci vuol indicare il “COME” e lo “SCOPO”.

Spesso non abbiamo risposte ad alcune delle nostre richieste perché non ci poniamo le giuste domande, oppure ci poniamo domande che non sono ancora alla nostra portata (Giov. 16: 12).

Meditare significa riflettere su ciò che leggo, ponderare, pensare e ancora ripensare su ciò che la Bibbia dice su quella situazione che sto vivendo o affrontando.

Un qualcosa che devo sempre tenere a mente quando leggo la Scrittura è che Dio ha dato la sua Parola a me, per ME!

Molti leggono la Bibbia solo per poi trasmetterla ad altri.

Altri la leggono solo per conoscere cosa è successo ad altri (ai personaggi biblici).

Pochi hanno compreso che la Bibbia, in modo particolare il Nuovo Testamento, è una lettera di amore che Dio ci ha scritto personalmente, e che dobbiamo applicarla prima di tutto a NOI STESSI!

Potrò essere ispirato ad aiutare gli altri, o a portare una parola per gli altri, ma questo deve avvenire dall’abbondanza del cuore (Luca 6: 45). Non posso vivere di briciole, ne tanto meno potrò sfamare gli altri con le briciole. Dio ci chiama a vivere quotidianamente del suo pane che proviene dal cielo (Mateo 6: 11).

La meditazione biblica è appunto tenere a mente durante la giornata ciò che ho letto, ascoltato e appreso.

Una differenza che ho notato tra il leggere e il meditare la posso descrivere semplicemente così:

Nel leggere, io LEGGO la Bibbia, nel meditare, la Bibbia LEGGE me.

Il Salmista che ben aveva compreso l’importanza del meditare la parola di Dio ha scritto:

Dio mio, io prendo piacere a far la tua volontà, e la tua legge è dentro al mio cuore. (Salmo 40:8)

(…) io medito i tuoi precetti [Tengo la mia mente costantemente sui tuoi precetti - The Message Bible] (Salmo 119:78)

Qualcuno una volta ha detto: “Il peccato ti tiene lontano dalla Bibbia, la Bibbia ti tiene lontano dal peccato!”

Sono d’accordo. Il tenere costantemente i miei pensieri sulla parola, condizionerà in modo positivo le mie parole e le mie azioni; la mia giornata sarà diversa e le mie attività saranno ispirate e modellate dal Dio della Parola.

Ora possiamo comprendere ancora meglio il perché Dio disse a Giosuè:

“Medita la mia parola, allora prospererai, allora avrai buon successo.”

Il mondo può conoscere solo un successo terreno, Dio parla di BUON SUCCESSO, quello che arriva a noi con la pace, l’onestà e la benedizione di Dio.

Alcuni suggerimenti pratici: ………Siate facitori della parola ……..

• Inizia la giornata con la Parola, concludila con la Parola (Medita giorno e notte).
• Inizia a meditare le lettere scritte alla chiesa, quali: Romani, Corinzi, Galati, Efesini, ecc. sono lettere scritte per noi.
• Sottolinea la Bibbia mentre leggi, in particolare frasi o parole che attirano la tua attenzione. Questo aiuta la nostra memoria fotografica.
• Annota negli spazi vuoti della pagina pensieri, parole, o frasi che ti vengono in mente. Questo ti permetterà di non dimenticare illuminazioni che hai sul momento.
• Scrivi su dei biglietti di carta il verso o le parole che ti hanno toccato il cuore durante la lettura, e tieni questi biglietti possibilmente sotto gli occhi. Tienili in luoghi dove ti ritrovi spesso, magari su una lavagna in cucina, ecc.
